Frequently Asked Questions

How does infrared method work?

With infrared heating two separate heating mechanisms are used: radiant heat and isolation of the air. When you have a cold room to start with and you turn on the infrared heating to warm up to 18°C, radiant heat will be maximal and the air temperature minimal. While the air temperature is rising, the radiant heat will diminish. After a while the room temperature starts rising and it becomes comfortable in this room.

Now the air temperature and the radiant heat remain constant. This means that there is a balance of the air temperature and radiant heat which causes a comfortable climate. This climate is comparable to a feel-temperature of around 20°C. The advantage is that you feel comfortable at lower air temperatures than with conventional heating (where just the air gets heated).

How do the Sunnyheat panels work?

The panels heat the room very quickly. There is a ‘rapid-heating’ option on the transmitter to speed up the process if is felt necessary. The front plate consists of high quality security glass.

Which are the Sunnyheat panel options?

The Sunnyheat panel is available in different sizes and glass versions: WHITE/ MIRROR / BLACK / BROWN, standard pictures and customised with paintings of your own choice.

Why is Sunnyheat an energy saving technology?

Sunnyheat is a new generation of high-tech infrared technology, a friendly and healthy ecological, economic energy heating source. These infrared heating panels are the first in the world equipped with a wireless transmitter (IST) and with an integrated PI- controller.

Sunnyheat has realised a +/- 50 % reduction in energy expenses as compared to conventional heating. With the infrared technology you don’t have any CO2 emissions in the eco system. In combination with a solar energy system you avail over the cheapest heating system in the world.

What does the heating cost on a yearly basis?

It’s difficult to give an exact estimation of costs, because of the fluctuation of energy prices, the outside temperature, the temperature you control by your thermostat and the insulation of your house, and of course the way you use the heating system. Therefore a theoretical calculation can be made, taken into account a number of indications. In a normal situation the amount of consumption is in a range between 20 and 50 kW/m²/year on 2700 degreedays basis. The better insulation, the lower the consumption; do you use the daily programmation, consumption will be kept to a minimum.

Our advice is : use the system where you want to feel the warmth and when you want to feel comfortable.

Is Sunnyheat using a thermostat?

NO! A wireless transmitter is used as a temperature controlled reference and operates on batteries. The transmitter measures the difference between the desired temperature and the actual temperature of the room and sends this information to panel electronics. This a continuous process.

This transmitter can be programmed extensively. You can indicate at what time a room needs to have a desired temperature. Each panel comes with its own transmitting device, but you can control several panels with just one sending device .

Suppose you have two panels in an L-shaped room, one panel above the dining table and one above the sofa corner. You can set the first panel at 20° (dining) and the second panel at 23° (sofa corner). In that way you can completely control differently each panel and each room in your house.

Where to position a Sunnyheat Panel

A Sunnyheat panel can positioned in several places. This will be discussed with your Sunnyheat representative.
